A cheetah purring...

One of the best things about San Diego, and North County in particular, is the San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

They are responsible from bringing the California condor from the brink of extinction with only 22 individuals in 1987, to over 380 today, as well as for breeding the endangered Uganda giraffe (with a total of 115 calves born), and for breeding 130 of these beauties:

They have a beautiful habitat on their parcel of "savannah" at the Safari Park and really seem to enjoy it.

Anytime I see cheetahs I can't help but remember of one of the most amazing videos I've ever seen of cheetahs - which is this one.  This woman is one of my heroes, and hearing her break down their behavior (if you can tune out the French translation) is a treat.  Enjoy!
